Kwikee Kwiver co. Launches new Finishes.

April 2012 Immediate Release
New Finishes – Not necessarily camouflage

Williamsburg, MI – Kwikee Kwiver Co. is adding three new finish patterns to their Kwikee
Kompound (K6), K‐4 COMBO (K4C) and Kwik‐3 SS (K3S) quiver lines.  These new patterns step
outside the traditional camouflage hunting patterns typically found on Kwikee Kwiver products.

In 2011 there were over 150 bow models available from over 23 manufacturers presented in at
least 40 different finishes.  Kwikee Kwiver has always strived to provide matching products to
the greatest number of bows.  To expand the reach in this goal the PSE Skullworks, TWN Skulz
and Carbon Black have been added to the finishes available on the most popular Kwikee Kwiver
models.

Kwikee has traditionally provided the typical camouflage patterns that appealed to the archery
hunting community since their quivers are tailored for the hunter.  With the expansion of bows
and the finishes they present, it was only time before Kwikee would be providing the matching
accessories.

PSE Skullworks was presented at the 2012 Archery Trade Association show in January as a new
pattern that would be available on all PSE bows.  Dealers and consumers are reacting positively
to this new finish.  A quick conversation with PSE to gain access to the film and the processing
began.

Skulz has been available and is appearing on more bows.  Kwikee had provided some product in
this finish to a TV production in the past and everyone was pleased with the appearance.  The
pattern looks good on matching bows or black bows.

Carbon Black is appearing on several bows and is also a general alternative to their Legendary
Black.  For bows that exist in patterns where Kwikee doesn’t have a match this is a great
alternative.

Onyx gear keeping me comfortable

Onyx gear keeping me comfortable.

By: Dave Thomas BHP Prostaff

I am a firm believer in quality hunting clothes.  I recently have been testing the Arctic Shield Light wear during turkey season to say WOW!  This gear is quite and extremely comfortable. To thin you say?  Not with Arctic shield they use amazing technology to keep your heat from escaping.  They have a special layer of high tech material that pushes your body heat back down to your body keeping you toasty warm.  You can also add the Onyx base layers to further heat your core and keep you in the woods much longer.  This past hunt I was on the temperature dropped a good 20 degrees from 60s to 40s, but I was never cold, well my hands were but that was because I was not wearing gloves.  You can learn more about this amazing technology at http://www.onyxoutdoor.com/

Keep an eye out for our Testlab video on Onyx products.

About Arctic Shield -

ArcticShield technology utilizes a multi-layered thermal barrier that captures and returns up to 90 percent of your body heat which is more effective than thick traditional insulation that only slows body heat loss. This cold-weather clothing is innovatively thin and unbelievably warm.

Rage’s New Chisel Tip Broadheads Offer Bone-Busting Penetration and Durability

SUPERIOR, Wis. (March 7, 2012) — Rage Outdoors has combined the proven technology of its rear-deploying SlipCam broadheads with its new bone-busting chisel point to create the new Rage Chisel Tip broadheads. Once the Rage Chisel Tip blazes through the hide of any game animal, the razor-sharp steel blades deploy to cut a path of destruction, and the hardened stainless steel chisel point will bash through any bone that gets in its way.

The Rage Chisel Tip is available in three versions. The 2-blade Rage Chisel Tip has a 2-inch cutting diameter and is available in both 100- and 125-grain weights. The 100-grain 3-blade has a 1.5-inch cutting diameter.

“Customers talked, and Rage listened,” said Jon Syverson, vice-president of Sales and Marketing. “There are bowhunters that really just prefer using a chisel tip broadhead. So we took the most popular mechanical broadhead in the world and added a specially designed Helix-Cut chisel point to the front of it. The results have been amazing.

“We believe that this new broadhead will be the answer our customers have been waiting for,” concluded Syverson.

The new Rage Chisel Tip broadheads offer the ShockLockä blade-retention system. This proprietary system allows the blades to lock in place by using an O-ring that acts as a shock absorber for the blades. They remain locked in place until the moment of impact.

The new Rage Chisel Tip broadheads are easily recognizable by their black, anti-friction nickel-coated chisel points and red-anodized ferrules. They will be available at retailers nationwide this spring with a suggested retail price of $44.99 for a three pack with a practice head.

If you have been waiting for the perfect chisel-point broadhead, your wait is over!

ALPEN - Putting it to the test.

ALPEN - Putting it to the test.

I recently had the pleasure to test out the Apex 10x42 Binoculars in Mossy Oak and the #742 Spotting scope kit from Alpen Optics.  I received these in June and since then have put them through the ringer.  My goal with these was to test them out in a rugged way.

Apex 10x42 Binoculars

At first glance these binoculars are sleek and elegant.  As I pick them up I notice how amazing they feel in my hands. They are so light I can barely feel them in my hands as they form perfectly around my palms and make viewing very comfortable.  I notice the eye pieces pop out to adjust to my desire setting.  I put them up to my eyes to see crystal clear images reflect back at me.  The glass of the APEX is fully multi-coated BAK4 which provides stunning clarity.  I even tested them at night fall to find that they still clear in dim light.  The rubber armoring provides superior protection as I dropped them in water, snow and rocks to find them still working like brand new.  I even threw them out of a 20 Foot treestand to find them having no issues.   Using the Apex 10x42 Binoculars on wild game is simple and easy as they are quite, light and quick to adjust giving you plenty of time to focus in.  I would recommend you test these out for yourself.  They are top notch and rated very high in different publications.  Alpen is a company that provides tough, durable and high quality products.  This product comes with deluxe travel case and wide comfortable neck strap and also features Alpens lifetime warranty.

#742 spotting scope kit from Alpen Optics

I was excited to test out this spotting scope as I could tell it was built very well.  I took this scope out to the north 40 farm (one of our local hunt spots) after playing with it I was able to look across fields with perfect precision.  I located a deer heard and was able to hone in on the shooter bucks.  I was able to get a close up look at the racks from over 400 yards away.  Looking through the Alpen 742 Spotting scope was like looking at the animal 10 yards away, incredible clarity and perfect focus.  This scope kit was nice because you get the case and a tripod to use the scope with.  The scope is rubber covered and has an adjustable collar. The scope is 20-60x60, waterproof and features an extendable sun shade.    As with the other product we reviewed we dropped this scope a couple times to find it having no issues.  You can mount this scope on your car window for scoping out new hunting spots.  Most people don’t realize but you can use this spotting scope for other things such as star gazing, event watching and target shooting.
