I’m a firefighter for a detroit area community, husband, proud dad to my wonderful 23 y/o daughter, step dad to four (2 step sons and 2 step daughters) and a grandpa to a wonderful grandson. I have been hunting since I was five sitting with my dad in the blind. Spent a couple years hunting the gladwin area where we rented a cabin on Tittabawassee river over Thanksgiving, then in 78 we started camping and hunting the Rifke River state recreation area in Rose City.
I did not actually start bow hunting until 87. My dad gave us (Dad, Mom and I) bows for Christmas in 86. From then on I didn’t miss an october hunt whether camping or going to the state game area in Macomb county.
My wife and I now live just east of Clio, Michigan on 11.5 acres which she and I both hunt. Hunting for me whether kill or no kill is a great way for me to relax and reconnect with myself, God and nature. There is nothing better than an early morning sunrise or a sunset from the treestand or ground blind, nothing like the cold crisp air and a moon lit walk into or out of the stand or blind.
